The are going with Plan C this Sunday when they will start Colt McCoy at quarterback against the New England Patriots.
McCoy, 32, has 27 NFL starts at quarterback, including six with the Redskins.
“I decided a long time ago,” said Washington coach Jay Gruden, who has long been a McCoy supporter.
Case Keenum had been the starter, but he wore a protective boot and didn’t practice this week. Prize rookie Dwayne Haskins was brought in to replace him last Sunday when the Redskins were losing to the Bears. He wasn’t impressive, throwing three interceptions while completing 9-for-17 for 109 yards.
McCoy wasn’t in the quarterback competition in the preseason because of injury — he has had multiple surgeries to repair a broken leg. But
