The USD 253 Board of Education took one of the most crucial steps in its $78 million facility improvement project Wednesday evening.
Board members voted unanimously to approve a resolution authorizing the issuance of bonds for district facility upgrades and the construction of a new early learning facility to replace Maynard Early Childhood Center. USD 253 Superintendent Kevin Case says it is a very exciting time for the district.
According to Dustin Avey of Piper Jaffray, the district could possibly lock in interest rates as soon as next Thursday. The bond issue could be formally closed by Dec. 18.
