Ex-‘Jersey Boys’ stars The Midtown Men bring Christmas show to Wilmington Dec. 5.

The Midtown Men could say they owe their success to Katie Couric.

While they were still working together on “Jersey Boys,” the group was asked to sing for Couric’s 50th birthday party.

“All of a sudden we were put on the spot for this birthday party. We worked up a 45-minute set and that’s how the Midtown Men was born,” said Michael Longoria, who played the role of Frankie Valli in the Tony Award-winning musical, “Jersey Boys.” Longoria was originally cast as Joe Pesci, then played Valli after John Lloyd Young left the show.
