NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WTVA) – State education leaders spent time in north Mississippi celebrating A-rated schools.
In September, the Mississippi Department of Education released letter grades for the 2018-2019 school year.
The State Superintendent of Education (center) visited the Union County, Pontotoc City and New Albany school districts.
Many school districts in north Mississippi received an “A” grade, including the Union County, Pontotoc City and New Albany school districts.
Other A-rated districts include the Oxford, Lowndes County, Booneville, Amory, Tishomingo County, Lafayette County and Alcorn school districts.
The State Superintendent of Education, Dr. Carey Wright, visited the Union County, New Albany and Pontotoc City schools on Tuesday morning as part of the Celebration of Excellence Tour.
