BEREA, Ohio — The Berea-Midpark Middle School auditorium resonated with pride and applause Nov. 25 as the Berea Board of Education celebrated its Be a Titan award winners for their positive efforts on behalf of others and the district.

“To be a Titan means to be extraordinary by displaying safe, responsible and respectful actions towards others, showing character, showing leadership and/or providing service,” board President Ana Chapman explained.

Honorees included student scholars, athletes, parents, office workers, transportation staff, intervention specialists, teachers, students from various grades and buildings, custodians, a school nurse, PTA representatives and counselors.

Brook Park Councilman Jimmy Mencini, former Board of Education member “Officer Fred” Szabo, and Chance, the Brook Park Memorial Elementary School therapy dog, also were recognized.
