Nonfarm payroll employment increased by 266,000 jobs in November, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday, marking the country’s 110th straight month of employment gains. 

The unemployment rate fell to 3.5%.

Notable job gains were seen in leisure and hospitality, which added 45,000 jobs in November. The healthcare industry added 45,000 jobs last month as well, and has now added 414,000 jobs in the past 12 months. 

Manufacturing added 54,000 jobs in November, reflecting the end of the GM strike, which returned 41,000 workers to employment in motor vehicles and parts.
