For the week leading up to Christmas, the forecasted low is around 40 degrees, leaving many potentially cold students standing at bus stops with no heavy winter coat.

Huffman ISD and the Huffman Education Foundation has been doing a coat drive to help needy students get the warmth they need.

So far, they have given out about 130 brand new coats.

The Knights of Columbus chapter from St. Martha’s Catholic Church in Kingwood collects new coats and gives them out to area school districts. They started including Huffman ISD a couple years ago and nearly doubled the amount of coats they donated to Huffman ISD this year from the year before.
