Buffalo Bills defensive lineman Corey Liuget has reached a settlement to end his lawsuit against NFL player trainer Ian Danney just weeks before several of Danney’s current or former clients were expected to testify at trial about the substances he gave them. 

Liuget, a former first-round NFL draft pick, had sued Danney and accused him of injecting him with a banned performance-enhancing drug without his consent in late 2017, when Danney was working for Liuget as his personal fitness trainer. Liuget said this caused him to flunk an NFL drug test and receive a four-game suspension for it in 2018.

Danney denied the accusation throughout the case. Settlement terms were not disclosed. But a notice filed in federal court in California states that
