The Trump administration blocked Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran’s top diplomat, from entering the United States,  reported Monday. 

The diplomat planned to come to the U.S. to address the United Nations Security Council in a meeting on Jan. 9, when he was expected to speak on the by the U.S.

Unnamed diplomatic sources who told Foreign Policy about this move by the Trump administration also said it violates a 1947  with the U.N. that the U.S. allow foreign officials into the country for U.N. affairs.
