CLARKSBURG — Since recent rumors have been flooding the hallways of area schools regarding the removal or reevaluation of Title I, education officials in NCWV are speaking out about what’s happening to Title I in their respective counties.

According to Christy Day, coordinator of communications at the West Virginia Department of Education, funding for Title I has been provided by the U.S. Congress for the 2020-2021 school year.

“All West Virginia counties will be eligible to receive funds, and the WVDE has provided preliminary 2020-21 allocation information to each of the state’s county school systems,” she said.
