If you’ve ever considered running for town council or other elected offices, here are the steps you must take to get on the ballot.

GARFIELD – The City Council unanimously voted to approve a resolution that extends the waiting time elected officials have to wait before they can apply for a city job in what was called a move to be more transparent.

The resolution, presented first by Councilman Frank Calandriello, stipulates members of the governing body are not eligible for municipal jobs for at least 18 months after they leave their elected post.
