March 27 (Renewables Now) – FuelCell Energy Inc (NASDAQ:FCEL) has decided to temporarily close its manufacturing facility in Torrington, Connecticut, in a voluntary move to preserve the health of its staff in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak.
The US company, which provides fuel-cell solutions for power plants, including renewable biogas, will keep its factory doors closed through April 20, according to a press release.
All company staff will be working remotely through at least April 1, except those on critical assignments that cannot be done off-site, FuelCell Energy said.
Projects under construction and maintenance services will continue, while finished goods on hand will be used for near-term in-flight projects. The company added it will re-evaluate its decisions as new information on the COVID-19 pandemic
