The novel coronavirus outbreak in Contra Costa County continued, with the county logging nine more positive patients.

In an update Sunday, the Contra Costa Health Services Department said 539 residents have tested positive for COVID-19.

The number went up by nine, a relatively smaller amount than in previous days this month, up from 530 Saturday, 511 on Friday and 484 Thursday.

There were no new deaths since the two that were logged Saturday for a county total of 11.

Health officials logged the county’s first case five and a half weeks ago on March 4.
