To prop up the economy during the pandemic, Congress passed the most sweeping expansion of  insurance since the program began. Now, say the Trump administration is trying to undercut the new benefits.

Independent contractors and gig workers such as drivers are supposed to be eligible for benefits under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, but the U.S. Department of Labor has that could make it tricky for a rideshare driver to qualify.
