The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases continued to climb in the Bay Area over the weekend, officials reported Sunday, but the pace of the increases has shown signs of slowing.

Santa Clara County reported on Sunday it had reached 100 confirmed coronavirus deaths, adding one since the last update on Saturday. The county has 2,084 reported coronavirus cases, an increase of 48, or up 2.4 percent from the previous report, according to county officials.

Hospitalizations in Santa Clara County now total 163, up 13.2 percent from a previous total of 144 that was reported on April 21.

Alameda County reported that it had 1,468 cases as of April 25, an increase of 26 cases, or 1.8 percent more than the prior reporting date. Alameda County
