Fauquier had 39 cases of COVID-19 as of Sunday morning — up three since Saturday, according to the Virginia Department of Health.
Virginia reported 484 more infections and 19 more deaths in the last 24 hours.
The state’s daily update put total at 8,537 cases with 277 deaths attributed to the pandemic. (The case total includes those tested positive and those with symptoms and known exposure to COVID-19.)
Those numbers stood at 8,053 and 258 a day earlier.
So far, 545,733 people had been tested in Virginia with 1,422 hospitalized for treatment of COVID-19.
Among the state’s 8.53 million residents, 0.6 percent have been tested.
In the five-county Rappahannock-Rapidan Health District, which includes Fauquier, 1,305 people had undergone tests for the virus. That accounts for 0.7 percent of the district’s population
