The Solano Workforce Development Board’s COVID-19 Layoff Aversion Fund has saved 75 jobs.

On April 8, the Workforce Development Board of Solano County (WDB) established a new COVID-19 Layoff Aversion Fund (LOAF) to support small businesses in Solano County. The fund was designed to assist Solano County small businesses facing financial impacts and experiencing economic stresses from COVID-19 by providing grants to avoid potential layoffs and prevent facility closures.

Within 48 hours the fund had received over $120,000 in Solano County small business grant applications. With over 30 of COVID-19 LOAF applications in hand, the WDB has utilized the $60,000 in LOAF grant funding to support 15 small business, avoid layoffs and has already helped save 75 Solano County jobs.
