MIDLAND, MI – Consumers Energy Foundation will be doling out around $90,000 in grant aid to flood relief efforts in Gladwin, Midland and Saginaw counties, according to a press release.

The decision came after record-high flooding hit several counties, causing severe damage and the destruction of many local homes and businesses. The emergency funding will help from line workers provide food, water, shelter and other basic needs to flood victims.

“Our hearts are with the people of mid-Michigan impacted by this natural disaster,” stated Shaun Johnson, Consumers Energy senior vice president and general counsel, who is also from Edenville. “We are committed to helping the region respond quickly and effectively to this emergency, supporting communities we serve and that many of us call home.”
