PARMA, Ohio — After spending 57 days in the hospital fighting COVID-19 — including 23 days in the ICU — Parma resident Jerry Gustin, 74, was discharged earlier this week from the UH Parma Medical Center.
Naturally, Gustin, who said he feels fantastic, is happy to be back home and in the kitchen enjoying the small things of life with his wife, Linda.
“Everything is falling into place,” said Gustin, who has four children and eight grandchildren. “I didn’t lose my sense of taste and smell — thank the good Lord, because I love to eat.
“We had smoked ribs the first night and spaghetti the second night. I’m going to have a steak this weekend. We like to cook together,” he said.
