Shelby County reported nearly 400 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday. This is the highest daily count reported since the virus was identified in Shelby County in March.

The health department reported cases rose to 7,840 Saturday, up from 7,440 Friday.

In its daily email update, the health department said it is “investigating the marked increase in reported cases to discern whether it indicates an actual increase in positive COVID-19 test results or is a product of delayed laboratory reporting.”
