It’s not a full return to normal operations, but Grand Canyon National Park officials announced .

The park had been open for day use on weekends use since mid-May. Limited daily access began on May 29 and 24-hour access will begin June 5. Lodging in the park also will begin reopening June 5 on a rolling schedule.

Through June 4, the South Rim’s south entrance (near Tusayan) will be open 4 a.m.-2 p.m. daily. Those in the park by 2 p.m. can remain until sunset. Some services, such as , will be available, but most services will be limited.

Hiking on inner canyon trails is allowed. Existing backcountry permits will be honored, but no new permits
