It’s been a whirlwind summer for a group of pro softball players — including several  members of the Team USA Olympic squad — who , took a in Florida and now have ended their season due to coronavirus concerns.

Almost as quickly as it had begun, has decided to shut down its team after just five games against the host USSSA Pride, effectively ending the summer season for both independent squads, considered by many to be the best pro teams in the world.

After a pair of games during the July 4 weekend in Viera, Florida, were canceled due to rain and lightning, a tweet was sent out by the team two days later that read in part:
