The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education announced Thursday that it is launching a public awareness campaign to promote health and safety as the new school year starts in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

School districts across Massachusetts are beginning to return to school this month. While about 70% of districts are planning a full in-person or hybrid learning model, some districts, including Boston, Worcester and Springfield, are starting with remote learning.
