Minnesota’s recent COVID-19 trends show the state steady on a path of relatively moderate growth in a bunch of key measures, including new cases and hospital admissions. That’s happy news after a November and December that saw cases, hospitalizations and deaths skyrocket.
But while the trends lines look good, officials still don’t believe the state is in the clear. Minnesota public health leaders believe another surge is likely in the coming weeks following the year-end holidays.

5,774 deaths (50 new)
440,354 positive cases (1,504 new), 419,139 off isolation (95 percent)
6 million tests, 3.1 million people tested (about 55 percent of the population)
5.3 percent seven-day positive test rate (officials find 5
