In 2008, NASCAR launched their NASCAR Green initiative with the goal to make one of America’s least environmentally friendly sport into one of America’s greenest.

Creating more energy efficient car designs, running ethanol fuel and converting their tracks to become more eco-friendly, in over 13 years NASCAR has managed to make considerable progress in their quest.

However, recently a few of NASCAR’s biggest venues have created a new venture. Using the large amount empty space, solar energy farms have been set up at six venues across the country . Here is a breakdown of all six venues and what they are doing to bring solar energy to their communities.
