Gov. Phil Murphy is making a big financial commitment to clean energy. On Tuesday, he announced $100 million will be allocated for clean transportation projects, including electric buses, garbage trucks and electric charging stations. He made the announcement in Newark, where work on some of these projects will take place.

Some of the projects will be funded with money the state received as part of a nationwide pollution settlement reached with the automaker Volkswagen. Money is also coming from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, or RGGI. Murphy said the projects will lead to new green jobs for the state.
