FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – A new graduate medical education program put together by Parkview is set to welcome applicants in March of 2022.

To help retain more physicians in northeast Indiana, Parkview Health has created this program to create both economic and health benefits for the region.

A graduate medical education program, also known as a residency, is a clinical training program for doctors who have graduated from medical school and are ready to receive further specialized training.

Depending on their specialty, organizers say medical residents can spend three to seven years receiving hands-on training and instruction from attending physicians, who have clinical expertise in their field.
