The U.S. Small Business Administration recently recognized SUNY Geneseo’s Small Business Development Center for its COVID-19 pandemic support efforts.

Rochester SBA Branch Manager Virginia Smith presented the SBDC with a Resource Partner Award plaque in recognition of exceptional service and dedication provided to the small business community during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The SBDC assisted 19 clients in securing $2.5 million in investments and saved or retained 500 jobs with the SBA’s highly utilized Economic Injury Disaster Loan and Paycheck Protection Program loan programs.

The SBDC is led by Director Paul Morrell, also the assistant vice president for finance and business development at SUNY Geneseo. His team of counselors includes Norm Karsten and Peter Markulis and administrative assistant Kim Wilcox.
