A pair of local students were recognized by the Michigan Department of Education in its 2021 Breaking Traditions Awards. 

The awards honor students in career and technical education programs “breaking traditions” by pursuing careers in which fewer than 25 percent of people working in that field are their gender.

West Ottawa’s Mayson Levandoski and Zeeland West’s Liliana Rapp were awarded a Certificate of Recognition. Levandoski is in the health careers phlebotomy program at the Careerline Tech Center, while Rapp is studying in the CTC’s mechatronics and robotics program.
