Education roundup: Central Catholic High School appoints assistant principal – Massillon Independent

PERRY TWP. – Central Catholic High School has appointed Nicole Singer as assistant principal. She will succeed Noelle Waltenbaugh, who will become a guidance counselor at the school. Singer, a 2004 graduate of Central Catholic, has been a teacher with the Massillon City School District since 2011. She was the head of the Social Studies Department and 2021 Massillon Washington High School Teacher of the Year. She received her Master of Arts Education Administration Degree and Ohio principal’s license from the University of Akron and her Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Social Studies Education and History from Walsh University. GlenOak, McKinley grads win scholarshipsGlenOak High School graduate Gabriella Harris has been awarded a scholarship from the Richard T. Naples Sr. Education Foundation, according to a news release. The foundation offers its annual scholarships to current high school seniors and college students who reside in Trumbull, Mahoning and Stark counties. Naples, who owns fireworks stores in Niles, Hubbard and Canton, established the fund 24 years ago to help young adults with the cost of higher education. Case Farms has awarded McKinley High School graduate Kevonne Wright the J. Leroy Cook Memorial Scholarship, according to a news release. Kevonne is attending Ohio State University with a double major in psychology and human nutrition.
