“Stranger Things” kicked off the summer with a bang, and Netflix is looking to end the season with another blockbuster fan-favorite. “The Sandman” (Aug. 5), based on Neil Gaiman’s iconic comic series, stars Tom Sturridge as Dream, aka Morpheus, aka The Sandman, a cosmic being who controls all dreams who must travel time and space to restore his kingdom and undo the damage done after he’s taken prisoner and put out of commission for more than a century. Kirby Howell-Baptiste stars as his sister, the Grim Reaper, with Gwendoline Christie, Jenna Coleman and Taron Egerton filling out the star-studded cast. An adaptation of the epic, extremely graphic “Sandman” story has been in and out of development for more than two decades, and fans should be extremely exited for this.
