Gov. Whitmer Announces 50 New Jobs as Niagara Bottling Establishing New Operations in Shelby Township
LANSING, Mich. – Governor Gretchen Whitmer joined the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) today to announce that beverage manufacturer Niagara Bottling is establishing a new facility in Shelby Township with support from the Michigan Strategic Fund.
The project is expected to generate a total capital investment of up to $103.6 million and create at least 50 jobs, supported by a $350,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant. Niagara chose Michigan for the project over competing sites in other states.
“This investment by Niagara Bottling will create at least 50 good-paying manufacturing jobs in Shelby Township, and underscores our talented manufacturing workforce and attractive business climate,” said Governor Whitmer. “Michigan’s economy is on the move with low unemployment, the highest small business growth in 24 years, and powerful economic development tools. Together, we will continue investing in our workers, every region of our great state, and in innovative businesses so they can thrive. Our future is bright, and today’s expansion by Niagara Bottling will help us continue moving Michigan forward.”
Niagara Bottling, founded in 1963, is headquartered in Diamond Bar, California, and operates more than 40 production facilities throughout the U.S. and Mexico. As a leading beverage manufacturer, Niagara works with some of the largest beverage brands, retailers, grocers, clubs, and convenience stores in the U.S. Niagara produces a variety of beverages, including sparkling, vitamin, and flavored waters, teas, sports drinks, ready-to-drink coffee, protein drinks, non-dairy milk products, and bottled water.
