Field Experience Information for Teacher Education Programs
EDUC 1190 requires students to complete 45 hours of field experience in a K-12 general education and special education classroom during 12 weeks of the term.
Students will receive an email with information on applying for a field placement after registering for the course.
All students will are required to fill out an online placement application in order to complete field hours.
There are limited options for after school hours so students should plan their schedule to allow for observational hours to be completed sometime Monday – Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
All students taking this course are required to take and pass a background check. Students are responsible for paying the background check fees. Information about obtaining a background check will be included in the email students receive shortly before the term begins.
