today revealed its third product — a sleek, sporty SUV with up to 517 horsepower and a targeted range of 300 miles between charges. The Polestar 3 will start at $83,900, plus $1,400 for delivery. It will be Polestar’s first vehicle built in the U.S., though its starting price will prevent it from qualifying for the $7,500 federal EV tax credit.

The company struck out on its own to build electric cars. So far, it has offered two cars. The Polestar 1 is a luxury hybrid performance coupe that has sold out and ended its production run. The Polestar 2 is a high-riding all-electric fastback sedan with up to 270 miles of range and a starting price of $48,400 (plus a $1,400 destination fee). The company has plans for several more, including a Polestar 5 luxury sedan and a Polestar 6 roadster. The 3 is the next step in that plan.
