The Game Awards released its list of nominees for this year’s show, with God of War Ragnarök earning the most nominations with 10. Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West also show up in a lot of categories with seven nominations each.

The event will take place on December 8. People will tune in to see who will win the awards and watch the new game reveals that the show famously hosts.

As far as snubs from this year’s list of nominations, I do see a few. Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker had an amazing soundtrack, but Endwalker released in December last year. While that does still make it eligible for this year’s awards, those December games often seem to slip the mind of ballot holders (which, by the way, does include GamesBeat).

I’d also like to have seen more nominations for Live A Live, but at least Xenoblade Chronicles 3 picked up a Game of the Year nomination. That’s a win for all of the great Switch RPGs we saw this year.
