Dow Jones Newswires: Bouygues 2022 net profit dips to $1.03 billion

reported a rise in 2022 sales and set out financial targets for its multi-technical services specialist Equans. The French telecoms-and-industrial company said it made 973 million euros ($1.03 billion) in net profit for the year, compared with EUR1.13 billion in 2021, on sales that grew 18% to EUR44.32 billion.

The company said it will propose a dividend of EUR1.80 per share. The Paris-based company said backlog at its construction and services businesses rose 2% to EUR33.8 billion. Its EUR20.6 billion backlog at Bouygues Construction offers good visibility on future activity, the company said. For 2023, Bouygues said that is it targeting 2023 sales close to 2022 levels and an increase to its current operating profit from activities. Separately, Bouygues said that it targeting a slight increase in sales in 2023 and 2024 for Equans, which the company acquired in October. Equans is targeting 2023 current operating margin from activities of between 2.5% and 3%, rising to 4% in 2025 and 5% in 2027. Write to Pierre Bertrand at pierre.bertrand@wsj.com
