Dear MarketWatch, I’m 48 and have been married to my wonderful husband, 49, for almost 20 years. We have one son, 18, who lives at home. We have three other adult children who now live on their own: My husband has two sons, ages 27 and 25, and I have a 29-year-old son from a previous marriage.
My husband and I are very open with each other about our finances; however, the responsibility to manage our finances has always completely rested on my shoulders. My husband is not fully engaged in our investments, and I do not want to make a mistake with our investment portfolio. We started with very little, but I researched investment options and worked hard to grow our business.
