Women Create Games Forum announces speaker lineup and date

Women in Games Italia announced this week that it’s holding its inaugural Women Create Games Forum in partnership with Event Horizon School. The event takes place on September 13 at Event Horizon’s Milan campus. The event covers a wide range of topics in game development, from production pipelines to environment artistry to UI/UX design, told from the perspective of women in the industry.

According to Women in Games, the event’s sponsors include Xbox, Predator Gaming (Acer) and Skillsearch, while partners include Swipe Right, Women in Games and Devcom. Micaela Romanini, founder of Women in Games Italia, and Fabio Cristi, Event Horizon’s project manager, will host the event. Fiona Cherbak, Xbox Game Studio’s lead talent program manager and head of inclusive hiring programs, is the keynote speaker.

The forum’s other speakers include:

Alessandra Tomasina, Senior Producer, Nacon Studio Milan

Arianna Fusetti, Lighting Artist, Frontier Developments

Carola Pettinato, Associate Game Designer, Criterion Games

Lisa Gobbi, Senior Environment Artist, Avalanche Studios

Maria Elena Silletti, Lead UI, Nacon Studio Milan

Irene Filoscia, GFX/UI Programmer, Milestone Srl

Marie-Claire Isaaman, Women in Games CEO, said in a statement, “We are delighted to be partnering and supporting the Women Create Forum, standing alongside Women in Games Italia and Event Horizon School to celebrate and champion the work of women across Europe. Events like this are so important – providing a safe and supportive environment for women to come together and inspire each other. We look forward to taking part this September.”
