The Asia Pacific Travel Health Society (APTHS) is a prominent organization that connects travel medicine professionals across the Asia-Pacific region, aiming to enhance and safeguard the well-being of travelers. Through advancing research, education, and practices in travel medicine, the society plays a vital role in promoting better health outcomes for individuals on the move.
APTHS’s key initiatives revolve around its biennial conferences, which serve as pivotal events for knowledge exchange and fostering collaboration. Additionally, the society organizes courses and meetings dedicated to expanding expertise in travel health.
Founded in 2000 in Bali after the success of three earlier regional travel medicine conferences, the APTHS continues to grow in response to the rising interest in the field. Every two years, its conferences are hosted in different locations throughout the Asia-Pacific region, drawing specialists and participants from across the globe.

The APTHS is dedicated to advancing healthy and secure travel practices across the Asia Pacific region. Collaborating closely with the International Society of Travel Medicine and various national travel medicine organizations, we advocate for and promote travel health initiatives. We also specialize in outbreak investigations, military and refugee health, medical tourism, and the safe evacuation and repatriation of travelers. Additional areas of focus include high-altitude medicine, public health, climate change, women’s health in travel, and the intersection of mental health and travel.
