The Dubai Exhibition Centre’s expansion will drive AED54 billion in annual revenue by 2033, solidifying Dubai as the premier global hub for mega events and MICE growth.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, has approved a monumental AED10 billion expansion for the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) at Expo City Dubai. Once completed, the DEC will be the region’s largest purpose-built indoor venue for events and exhibitions. This expansion is a critical part of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, aiming to transform Expo City Dubai into a dynamic economic hub powered by global exhibitions and events.
During a detailed briefing, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid reviewed the DEC master plan alongside key officials, including His Excellency Mohammed Al Shaibani, Director General of The Ruler’s Court of Dubai; His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Commissioner General for Infrastructure, Urban Planning, and Well-Being Pillar; His Excellency Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of the Dubai World Trade Centre Authority (DWTCA); and His Excellency Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality.
His Excellency Helal Saeed Almarri emphasized the DWTC’s commitment to tripling its economic contribution from the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events (MICE) sector, targeting AED54 billion annually by 2033.
