Celebrities in Hollywood enjoy many luxuries in life. With their fame and fortune, they can easily buy a mansion, their favorite car and even fall in love with or attract the man or woman of their dreams.
But when it comes to love, many can also easily fall out of it. Fans have witnessed quite a number of their favorite stars getting married and after just several months, split from their partners. Some young celebrities may have been overwhelmed by their feelings that they were quick to say yes to marriage until they realize it’s not what they really wanted or their partner was not the right one for them. And so divorce takes place and the rate is high in Hollywood.
“Similar to the average people, these celebrities go through the same divorce process,” said Los Angeles Divorce Lawyer Rozanna Velen. “The only difference is that the split up often gets highly publicized and the cost involved can be so much more.”
Here are several young Hollywood stars who got married and divorced early.
Hilary Duff
Hilary Duff got married to hockey player Mike Comrie in 2011 at the age of 23. Last year, she announced that her three-year marriage was about to end although she and her partner remain as friends. The actress confessed the spark in their relationship was no longer there.
LeAnn Rimes
American country and pop singer LeAnn Rimes fell in love and married backup dancer Dean Sheremet at a young age. She referred to Sheremet as the guy I want to marry after their first date. The two tied the knot in 2002 but they divorced after seven years after Rimes was rumored to have an extramarital affair with actor Eddie Cibrian. Rimes later married Cibrian after the actor also got divorced from his wife.
Drew Barrymore
Drew Barrymore is among the female Hollywood celebrities who married very young. She first got married to Jeremy Thomas but they eventually divorced after a few months into their marriage. The actress was only 20 years old at that time. She later tied the knot with comedian Tom Green but the marriage also failed after a year when Barrymore was 26.
Britney Spears
Controversial singer and actress Britney Spears married young. Spears made headlines when she married childhood friend Jason Alexander in Las Vegas in 2004 and split up with him just after two days.
The singer then married backup dancer Kevin Federline with whom she has two children. Unfortunately, their marriage ended three years later.
Angelina Jolie
The famous Angelina Jolie had two failed marriages before she tied the knot with Brad Pitt. Her first husband was Jonny Lee Miller but their marriage lasted only for three years during which the actress was only 23.
Jolie’s second husband was Bob Thornton whom she married at the age of 26. Again, they were a couple for only three years.
Uma Thurman
The star of “Kill Bill” is also a divorcee twice, first at a young age of 22 and then when she was 34. Her first husband was Gary Oldman but their marital bond lasted for only two years. Her second marriage with actor Ethan Hawke lasted longer for six years and still, it ended in divorce.
Kim Kardashian
This well-known reality TV star married during her 20’s. First, she was the wife of Damon Thomas for four years. She was only 24 when they split up. Her second husband was Kris Humphries but their marriage was short-lived and ended in divorce after only 72 days. Kim was 32 at the time.
