Job Resources for Law School Graduates

The below resource was generously provided by Jeffrey Nadrich, a personal injury attorney, based in Los Angeles. He is the managing partner of the law firm, Nadrich & Cohen, LLP and a proud graduate of University of California Hastings College of the Law. Currently, Mr. Nadrich and his legal team are pursuing Round Up lymphoma lawsuits on behalf of users of the Monsanto herbicide who subsequently developed Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma after exposure to glyphosate, one of the product’s ingredients. Mr. Nadrich understands that looking for a job right out of law school can be a full-time job in itself, but his aim is to provide the below resource to aid recent law graduates.

There are 1.3 million lawyers in the United States, and that number continually grows, as tens of thousands of people graduate from law school annually. The class of 2013 was the largest class ever, with 46,776 graduates. Once these students graduate, their priority is finding a job. Even in the best economy, landing the perfect job can be challenging, especially with so many law school graduates seeking employment. Where does a recent law school graduate look for a job? Online searches for employment are an important source for legal job seekers. But anyone who’s ever looked for a job online knows that there are countless websites to choose from. One could spend their entire day perusing job ads. We did the work for you and found five excellent online resources that offer a variety of attorney positions all across the country.

LawJobs.com allows you to browse attorney jobs by location and area of law. The website also offers advanced search tools to help you narrow down your search. This is especially useful if factors such as salary, location and company are important to you. On the homepage, you can scroll down and view featured jobs. If you find a position of interest, you can easily apply for it or save it for later. To access jobs quickly, you can register for free. It’s easy to do; just import your LinkedIn profile and you’re ready to go.

LawCrossing has an extensive selection of jobs in the legal field. If you’re specifically looking for attorney jobs, click on the “Attorney Jobs” link to get started. The website claims to track down every legal position available in the United States, so if you’re looking for a comprehensive job site, you’ve found it. However, you must pay to use it, which may not seem worthwhile when there are so many free job listings out there. You can try it before you buy it, though. Enter your email address for a free 72-hour trial and if you’re satisfied with the results, a subscription may be beneficial. The site does boast more than 100,000 jobs, with more than 18,000 added in the last week.

Robert Half Legal partners with 21,000 hiring managers in the legal field, so they have access to unique attorney positions throughout the country. They can assess your skills and education and match you to the right position. The company focuses more on temporary and project-based jobs, but there are full-time positions available as well. You can easily search by keyword and ZIP code to find a legal job near you.

Lawmatch offers a comprehensive search tool to help you find a position that matches your skills, education and preferences. You can search by job function, practice setting, state and any other keywords of your choice to find the perfect match. You can post your resume to have employers find you or create an account to save jobs and streamline the application process.

Law Bulletin posts new jobs every weekday. You can search by practice area and position. However, the search is limited, as the positions are in the Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin areas only. You can post your resume and sign up for job alerts, which inform you when a new job is posted based on your preferences.
