The LA Rams Crush The Arizona Cardinals

The Los Angeles Rams and the Arizona Cardinals met at Twickenham on Sunday just gone in the latest NFL London Series. It was the LA Rams who came out on top as they crushed the Cardinals 33-0. It was all far too comfortable for Sean McVay’s side who managed to perform an impressive shut out against the Cardinals who were pretty much out of the match as early as half time. Bruce Arians will have been left extremely disappointed seeing his side fail to register a single point throughout the tie.

Victorious manager Sean McVay is actually the youngest NFL coach of all time and under him the LA Rams look a completely different force. Offensively the Rams looked unstoppable at times and were truly on fire, seen especially in the performances of quarterback Jared Goff and running back Todd Gurley. Goff managed 22 of 37 for 235 yards with Gurley running for 106 yards and a score. McVay hasn’t just got the offense firing though as the defence just looked as impressive on the night.

The Arizona Cardinals have the likes of running back Adrian Peterson and wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald in their ranks and the two sure fire future hall of famers were kept under control by McVay’s Rams throughout the contest. Research courtesy of Unibet, confirms that Peterson was in fact searching for his 100th career rushing touchdown, but after being kept out by the Rams he will have to wait at least another week to hit the century and maybe even surpass it.

There were over 70,000 people crammed into Twickenham for the ground’s second time of hosting an NFL game and by half time you could say that the contest was pretty much all over. The Los Angeles Rams had gone in front thanks to a couple of field goals from kicker Greg Zuerlein before they really took control of the tie just before the break. It was touchdowns from Gurley and Goff that really made the difference and ended the match as a contest just before the first half came to an end.

Being 23 points to nil up at the end of the first half, the Rams really could afford to take their foot off the gas slightly without any real risk of a comeback from the Arizona Cardinals. After the break, Zuerlein managed to add to the field goals he had already amassed in the first half before quarterback Jared Goff put Cooper Kupp in with a tremendous 18 yard pass for a touchdown late in the fourth.

All in all it was a night where the Los Angeles Rams got their work done and dusted quickly before switching to cruise control but that didn’t fail to stop them adding further weight to their already impressive winning margin. Head coach Sean McVay will have been extremely happy in what was a solid all round performance both offensively and defensively. His side are now well on course to make the playoffs.
