: The S&P 500’s top 25 highest-paid CEOs in 2021 were all men

Only one person out of 26 of the top compensation earners in 2021 at S&P 500 companies was a woman, according to data released Monday by the ratings agency. Patricia Kessler Poppe, CEO of PG&E Corp.

earned $51.2 million in total compensation in 2021, placing her 12th on the selected list of the 20 top wage earners and the only woman in that male-dominated top group. Out of the 26 highest-paid S&P 500 CEOs, Poppe was the only woman.

The top three wage earners of the S&P 500 were led by Expedia Group Inc.

CEO Peter Maxwell Kern with $296.2 million in total compensation. He was followed by Warner Brothers Discovery Inc.

CEO David Zaslaw, with $246.6 million in total compensation; and Amazon.com Inc.

CEO Andrew Jassy, with $212.7 million in total 2021 compensation.
